CASE STUDY 2 JULIE AMERO

This article really shocked me because of the sevire consecuences to her actions. If it was me in this situation I would have just unpluged the computer and face the consecuences of unpluging a computer than to have to go to court for exposing kids to pornografic material. I really dislike how although Julie went to the vice principal and to the principal the next day but in court they didn't acknowledged what she had done first. In my opinion I think that they were just trying to push the fault away from the school for not having all the resources to prevent situations like these from happening.

Yes, situations like Amero's is horrible and makes me nervous that I could get fired, or in legal trouble, over something like this. Teachers need to be technically prepared today.

yeah, you're right. It would have been a "smarter" or a more "common sense" idea to unplug the computer and risk getting in trouble than to leave the computer on and risk having children view such graphic and inappropriate material...and still get in trouble...or fired. lol. I dont think Julie Amero should teach, plain n simple. SHe needs to catch up to the 21st Century.

I agree that the most obvious way to have solved this problem and avoid such serious consequences was to immediately unplug the computer. If I were in Julie Amero's shoes that is exactly what I would have done. I also found the principle's reaction upsetting.

I wonder what was so important for her to not turn off the computer. I find it really hard to believe that she did not think of just unplugging the computer.

The more I think about this case study the more I tend to find it humorus that she didnt just pull the plug on the computer. I dont think at all that its funny because it can happen to any of us I just think that she didnt use commen sense and we all need that as teachers
